Emerge

Young Adult Ministry

Emerge is the Young Adult Ministry of Heart of the Bay Christian Center. Emerge is specifically designed to build a community of faith through fellowship and ministry for those between the ages of 18-39. Our desire is to experience God together and to live out that experience in our daily lives.

We meet at least once a month, giving us the opportunity to get together and fellowship. Check the events page for dates or join our Facebook group for the latest information.

Coupled 2gether & Marriage 101

Marriage Ministry

It is God’s desire for every married couple to enjoy a strong, healthy and fulfilling marriage.

Coupled 2gether

Coupled 2gether is a ministry dedicated to helping married couples build a Godly marriage. Our purpose in this ministry is to:

  • Build and strengthen the foundation of the marriage relationship through fellowship and teaching from the Word of God.
  • Provide an opportunity for married couples to meet and build relationships with one another through planned social activities.
  • Provide a time to pray for the married couples and families in our church.

Marriage 101

An extension of our Coupled 2gether Ministry. Our C2G ministry leaders, Paul and Dede Vernocy, invite all married couples, as well as engaged couples who are presently attending HBCC’s premarital guidance sessions, to attend our Marriage 101 Classes.

This class is designed to help couples strengthen their marriage through enriched teaching that will help build a lasting and joy-filled marriage. Video teachings are provided by such well-known authors as Jimmy Evans, Dr. Henry Cloud, Gary Smalley and many more. Whether you’ve been married 40 years or 4 months, you will find encouragement, inspiration and practical help for your Christian marriage.

Please check the events page for upcoming dates. The video teaching begins at 7:15 PM in Classroom 1, followed by a group discussion of the teaching. Coffee and desserts are served. The evening concludes by 9:00 PM. Sign-up is not required. A married spouse may attend alone. Please note that we are not able to accommodate children.

Second Wind

Ages 60 Years and Better

Our Second Wind Ministry is designed especially to enrich the lives of our senior saints through weekly fellowships and ministry in the Word. Second Wind meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM prior to our 11:00 AM church service. We enjoy periodic events like pot-luck movies and picnics.

The vision of Second Wind is:

  • To see Psalm 92:12-15 fulfilled in the lives of those “60 years and better.”

“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord, shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bear fruit in their old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the Lord is upright. He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

  • That each member comes to know their individual purpose as born-again, spirit-filled believers serving Almighty God.
  • That each member will realize the valuable benefits of aging, among which are wisdom and experience.
  • To build strong, meaningful and lasting relationships.
  • To see each member having a heart for the lost, reaching beyond the church walls to minister God’s love to a hurting world.

Women's Ministry

The Women’s Ministry is designed to enhance lives through special meetings, prayer groups, fun, and fellowship.

The vision of the Women’s Ministry is threefold. It is our desire to see you:

  • Become rooted in a personal, loving relationship with Jesus.
  • Have a better understanding of yourself and your purpose in life.
  • Develop personal relationships with other women and allow for a friendly, non-threatening environment that allows you to introduce non-believers to a church setting.

Annual Events
During the year we have a variety of events and programs in which women can become involved. Some of these include:

  • Women's Spring Breakfast
  • Bunko Game Night

During the week we have Women’s Prayer that meets on Wednesdays at 11:00 AM in our Youth Room. Over the years, this has become a special hour of worship and prayer and we invite you to join us as we spend time in God’s presence.

Men's Ministry

The mission of our Men’s Ministry is four-fold:

  • To reach men with the life-changing power of Jesus Christ and impact their ability to love and know God, themselves, their spouses and their children.
  • To teach men how to trust God for all things through the power of faith and the Word of God.
  • To reach out to those men who do not have a relationship with God with the good news of the Gospel.
  • To offer a way of accountability to help one another in difficult times.

Annual Events
Men’s gatherings include the following:

  • Breakfast
  • Fellowship
  • Worship
  • Testimony
  • Teaching (video & live)
  • Group Discussion and Prayer
  • Accountability
  • Prayer

On the first Saturday of the month we meet at 9AM in the Youth Room for a powerful, impactful time of prayer. Please join us as we pray and spend time in God's presence.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is a vital and pivotal part of our ministry. We recognize that purposeful, powerful prayer paves the way for the impossible to become possible.

Have you ever asked the questions, “How can I know I am praying effectively?” or “Can I get answers to my prayers?”

The prayer ministry at Heart of the Bay Christian Center was established to assist believers in seeing the importance of a vibrant prayer life based on fellowship and relationship with God and on knowing the Biblical truths that lead to answered prayer.

It is our desire to teach and instruct every believer by precept and example. This is accomplished by prayer being taught from the pulpit, special classes, as well as books and material being made available in our Bookstore. Believers can participate in weekly prayer groups as well as special times of corporate prayer. During these meetings, believers are able to put into practice what they’ve learned about prayer.

Our Vision

  • Teach believers the importance of prayer.
  • Teach believers how to develop their own individual prayer life.
  • Teach Biblical truths for enjoying answered prayer.
  • Teach prayer by precept and example.
  • Teach believers the value of corporate prayer.
  • Teach believers to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit in their prayer life.
  • Develop a life of Spirit-led living.
  • Develop strong prayer leaders.
  • To have groups meet on a regular basis to pray about specific issues and needs.
