Children's Ministry Resources for Parents

Preschool to 6th Grades

Friday, March 27, 2020

Dear Parents,

We would like to share the resources below for your children's spiritual growth and development. The lives and environments of our children have suddenly changed and it is important for them to feed their hearts with God's Word. These resources will bless them and encourage their faith...

The Bible App for Kids is the curriculum currently being used in our Preschool Ministry. The Bible App for Kids is so much more than an app. Here are the Companion Resources for kids and parents:

  • Episodes to stream or download to help your kids fall in love with God.
  • Color sheets
  • Adventure Books
  • Parent Guides

In addition to these resources, if you don't already have the Bible App for Kids, download it free from iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon, and interact with the complete set of Bible stories on the go!

April’s lesson is called:

“A Happy Sunday: The Empty Tomb”

Additional resources for parents

are available at The Bible App for Kids at:

(Grades 1st - 6th)

View videos along with your kids. Use the topics for discussion during family devotions.

Konnect (Grades 1st - 3rd)

At Konnect, kids find a place where they can have fun and belong. Find videos with the whole Konnect Crew, listen to their favorite songs, and more.

Loop (Grades 4th - 6th)

Loop is designed to help kids discover who God is and find confidence in who they are in Him as they start to transition into middle school.

Updates to Church Services and Meetings

Friday, March 20, 2020
In light of the shelter in place directive of Alameda County and local authorities, we have temporarily suspended our weekly services and ministry events through April 7th, or until further notice. For now, our offices are closed, and the staff is working remotely from their homes; however, you can call in your prayer requests to the Church at 510-786-3232 and leave a message. We will be happy to pray for you. You can also request a call back, and someone will get in touch with you.
Even though we are presently unable to assemble together as a Church Family in our building, let us remember the Church isn’t a building, it’s people and we are using every means to stay connected with each other! Our team is putting together a plan to have online services together on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights until we can resume our regular gatherings.
We had hoped to have this ready by this Sunday but will not be able to do so. What we will do, though, is upload a new message we are recording tomorrow in our Sanctuary which includes music by our worship team. It will be available for all of us to watch together Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. If you normally attend the 11:00 AM service, then you may want to tune in at that time. We encourage you to watch the service with your family and also invite other family members and friends to watch online. The message will remain on our website in the event you are unable to watch it at that time or would like to watch again.
Whether we are gathered together in person or meeting online, you must make church a priority for you and your family. We need to hear more of the Word of God right now, not less!
It is critical that we stay connected with each other during this time. Please check our website and Facebook page for regular words of encouragement and uplifting messages. We love you so much and are praying for you. This too shall pass. Let us all keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
You are valuable and you are valued,
Pastors Mark and Brenda Thomas

A Special Note From Pastors Mark and Brenda

Monday, March 16, 2020
Dear Church Family,

I’m sure you all have heard the news ordering 6 counties in the Bay Area to shelter in place until April 7th. These counties include Alameda, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, San Francisco and Contra Costa.

This order has given us no choice but to cancel all our church services and gatherings, and close our Church Office through Tuesday, April 7th or whenever the order is lifted.

We know our government and health officials made this decision based on the information and facts they have been given. We do believe the safety and well-being of the residents of the Bay Area are their top priority and we should continue to pray that God gives them wisdom and insight in how to handle this crisis.

All of us will be affected by this disruption in our lifestyle, but as believers, there certainly are things we can implement to ensure we remain healthy and strong spiritually, mentally and physically. Here are some suggestions:

  • Take time to feed your spirit man
  • Read and meditate on the Word of God
  • Listen to uplifting messages online, CDs, etc.
  • Spend time in prayer
  • Don’t isolate yourself
  • Stay connected with family and friends through phone calls, FaceTime, texting, and emails
  • Eat as healthy as possible
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Exercise regularly
  • Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine outdoors (there are no restrictions on taking walks)
We have not faced this situation before, but we are assured that our faith, trust, and confidence in God and His Word will see us through. This too will pass and we will come out stronger than ever.

As your Pastor, I encourage you to stay connected with your Church Family through our website and Church App. We’ll be posting updates and uplifting messages as we are able.

We also appreciate all your continued faithful giving online, by text and mailing in your tithes and offerings. Just like your personal bills, the Church's financial obligations continue during this time.

Words cannot express how much Brenda and I love and appreciate each one of you. It is difficult not to gather together with you but know that you are very much in our hearts and prayers.

Much Love,
Pastor Mark Thomas
